Shanghai Proton and Heavy Ion Center (SPHIC), a.k.a. the Proton and Heavy Ion Center of Fudan University Shanghai Cancer Center (FUSCC), is a modern and international cancer center integrating medical service, research, teaching, and featuring the state-of-the-art proton and heavy ion therapy in the international arena. As the first medical institute equipped with the proton and heavy ion system in China, SPHIC was built by Shanghai Hospital Development Center and is providing quality cancer care services from screening to treatment with supports from FUSCC with extensive experience and abundant resources in the field of cancer treatment.

In addition to the state-of-the-art facilities and equipment, SPHIC pays special attention to the development of professional expertise and teams. In addition to the shared expertise between SPHIC and FUSCC, SPHIC has accrued numerous senior medical physics and dosimetry experts from abroad, and is staffed with senior and experienced clinical experts of radiation oncology with specialization in all cancer types.
